1981
The club was established to serve the Rivervalley housing estate and the wider Swords community — starting with a handful of teams and a group of local volunteers determined to bring football to the area.
Early 2000s
The Saturday morning Development Academy was introduced for children aged 4–7, offering their first structured introduction to football in a fun, relaxed environment. It has run continuously for over 20 years, making it one of the longest-running youth academies in Swords.
2006
In the club's 25th year, Rivervalley Rangers received a Club of the Month nomination, which qualified the club for the prestigious FAI Club of the Year award — a significant community recognition of what the volunteers and players had built over a quarter century.
2024
Rivervalley Rangers AFC awarded FAI Club Mark accreditation, recognising the club's high standards in player welfare, governance, and community football. Supported by Circle K.
